Transneft Baltic has begun to carry out activities as part of the Industrial Safety and Industrial Control Year, which was announced in Transneft subsidiaries in 2020.
Within the Industrial Safety Year, it is planned to conduct a comprehensive drill with the participation of representatives of the federal executive bodies and regulatory authorities.
In 2020, the Company plans to implement a pilot project of a remote control system at facilities of the first (extremely high) and second (high) hazard classes, which will cover process sections, pumping stations, linear sections between stations of all branches. The system allows real-time monitoring of industrial safety at hazardous facilities.
It is envisaged to conduct themed lectures on industrial safety issues with employees of Transneft Baltic branches and business units, as well as photo contests and a children's drawing contest.
The events of the Industrial Safety Year are aimed at drawing attention of the Company’s employees to the need for complying with the standards and rules of the industrial safety and industrial control in order to ensure occupational safety and emergency-free operation of the facilities.
Transneft Baltic carries out efforts on ensuring industrial safety on a regular basis. Remote video monitoring of trunk pipelines has been conducted on regular basis to strengthen control organisation and emergency-free performance of scheduled repairs since May 2019.
119 non-regular emergency rescue teams (NRERT) underwent training and certification in 2019.
