Andrey Nikitin, the Governor of Novgorod Region, awarded Nikolay Tokarev, President of Transneft, a badge of honour of Novgorod Region for Charity and Philanthropy on 2 October 2019 in Moscow. The meeting was attended by the Company’s Vice President Mikhail Margelov and Rector of the Novgorod State University Yury Borovikov.
Transneft takes an active part in the social and economic development of Novgorod Region, the Cooperation Agreement with which was signed in 2017.
In 2018, school buses were purchased, school teachers of Novgorod Region were financially supported, and the roof of school No. 2 in Pestovo was repaired with the financial support of Transneft. Ambulance vans and medical equipment for the Pestovskaya (Pestovo), Khvoyninskaya (Khvoynaya industrial settlement) and Shimskaya (Shimsk industrial settlement) central district hospitals have been purchased as well as a car and special equipment for the Road Transport College (Pankovka settlement) and branches of the Borovichi College of Construction Industry and Economics in Pestovo and the Khvoynaya industrial settlement.
With the participation of Transneft, financing is being provided for the creation of the Novgorod Technical School, overhaul of several medical institutions in Novgorod Region (Khvoyninsky, Shimsky, Novgorod Central Regional Hospitals, etc.) and the purchase of medical equipment are underway.
Charity support was provided to repair 6 schools and outfit them with laboratory and demonstration equipment as part of the Transneft Corporate School Education Development Charity Programme (Pestovo, Bykovo village, Pes village, Khvoynaya settlement and Shimsk settlement).
The Baltic Pipeline System runs through the territory of Novgorod Region. The region has operating facilities of the Novgorod and Yaroslavl Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates of Transneft Baltic.
