Employees of Transneft Baltic participated in the campaign “Plant a Tree”

Employees of Transneft Baltic participated in the campaign “Plant a Tree” in a historic spot of Saint Petersburg - Yelagin Island.

The campaign timed to the Year of Ecology announced in Russia and Transneft was controlled by ecologists and employees of the park. The specialists showed the right way of planting trees. Representatives of Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage) and administration of Saint Petersburg also participated in the activity.

According to the results of the campaign, a cornel green hedge was planted in Yelagin Island, being a regional natural monument from 2012.

Many employees of Transneft Baltic came to the ecological activity with their families. Employees and their children participated in the All-Russian Ecological Children’s Festival as part of the campaign “Plant a Tree”, received light-green ribbons and flower seeds as part of the environmental movement “Light-green Ribbon”, participated in different interactive contests.

Transneft Baltic participates in such activities not for the first time. A set of works on transplanting rare species of plants from the area of the oil trunk pipeline reconstruction was performed in June-July 2017.

During the Year of Ecology Transneft Baltic, taking into account characteristics of the production activities, conducted planned activities oriented to minimizing influence on the environment and to drawing public attention to ecological problems.
